I could be wrong, but it seems to be attracting a fair number of people who are not accustomed to tinkering with their games to get them to work. I mainly note seccomp because it gives strong suggestions on where to look for the issue to the game developers, and unlike the average Linux user, I do not expect the average person from the new batch of Steam Deck users to find a workaround (especially if it becomes more mainline/popular). If you look at the game’s folder (at least the one I looked at), it has an “.exe” file when Proton is enabled, and it does not when the Linux runtime is enabled.

I agree that people are generally better off without disabling seccomp, and using proton instead, unless they cannot use Proton (for example, Chromebooks have very limited space, and Proton takes up a great deal of space).īut the default option that you see on Linux does not appear to be using Proton, so I do not see how they could be conflicting. Just for further clarification, although I would be surprised if it was related to the issue, this was tested with AMD and Intel graphics, but not NVIDIA. It is not a true/full solution (as it must be done manually, and it is not Linux native, as the Linux/SteamOS label on the Steam store would suggest), but it works as a temporary solution.
